Jenny McGee, psychologists at The Buttery Private.

Jenny McGee is the Clinical Manager and a Psychologist at The Buttery Private. Her professional experience includes working in physical education, the juvenile justice system and organisational consultancy as a counsellor, change facilitator, trainer and mediator and more recently as a psychologist at The Buttery’s long-term drug and alcohol residential program. Concurrently, she also works in private practice assisting clients to enhance emotional stability and identify self-limiting patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving from a more compassionate perspective. Her skills, study, expertise and natural interest have led her to develop this socially-based wellbeing program to facilitate change for people who wish to sustain their own wellbeing.

Sam Booker, Clinical Psychologist

Sam Booker is a Clinical Psychologist at The Buttery Private. She has a Bachelor of a Psychological Science (Honours) from the University of Queensland and Master of Clinical Psychology from Griffith University and has over ten years’ of experience working within the drug and alcohol space, in government, non-government and the private sectors. Sam has worked in a range of settings providing therapy to individuals wishing to change their substance use– outpatient counselling services, opioid treatment programs, needle and syringe and programs, ambulatory detoxification services and the 24-hour telephone counselling service ADIS. She has also spent time working on research and projects around the use of brief interventions in primary and secondary health care and building the capacity families, communities and the workforce to respond effectively to the needs of individuals impacted by substance use disorders.

Shaun Duff does Intake and Participant Support for The Buttery Private.

Shaun Duff has a Diploma of Social Science from Southern Cross University and for the past eight years has worked within The Buttery’s long-term drug and alcohol residential program. Shaun has extensive experience working for The Sanctuary private drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, where he managed, operated and helped develop the Sanctuary Recovery House for four years. There he enjoyed helping people achieve change and maintain positive outcomes. In his role at The Buttery Private, Shaun is committed to strengthening and developing the programs within The Buttery and seeing the organisation further develop to reach more people.

Mark Bulter, counsellor

Mark Butler is a psychotherapist and counsellor at The Buttery Private.  He holds a Masters degrees in Gestalt Psychotherapy and a Masters in Addictive Behaviours from Monash University and has worked in the addiction recovery field for ten years.  He has a passion for developing programs that enrich the recovery of those affected by mental health issues.  He has also worked in the corporate field in senior executive roles for 25 years, with a deep understanding of the stresses and challenges faced by those in the corporate sector and has published research on employee wellbeing in the workplace. Mark co-facilitates group sessions and psycho-education at The Buttery Private, engaging clients in the processes that have had a marked influence in their lives, thereby allowing for deeper awareness of themselves and how to move forward in a positive way.
