Quitting smoking

All smokers are at different stages when it comes to deciding to quit smoking. This includes the decision to stop using other harmful substances.

It is commonplace for people to make multiple attempts to quit smoking before achieving complete success.

In the interests of good health, The Buttery Private is smoke –free.

Participants who smoke are supported with nicotine replacement therapies and smoking cessation strategies to help cope with cravings and the urge to smoke.

Participants may find that they are better able to address other barriers to their wellbeing when they do not use smoking to avoid and suppress difficult, unpleasant feelings and emotional issues.

In the group setting of The Buttery Private, participants are given peer and counsellor support to help them learn to deal with tensions and certain reactions to life.
